Lou v Lopinto Statement of Interest - Police Interactions
And how the ADA applies to EVERY one of them
The USDOJ - United States Deparment of Justice entered a Statement of Interest in the Lou v. Lopinto case in the Eastern District of Louisiana, where an autistic minor was having a symptomatic reaction to autism and/or triggering, and the cops came, sat on him until he died, and expected that everything would be covered under qualified immunity. Uh, NO.
ADA applies to ALL services, programs and activities of the state/local government, under Title II of the ADA, and if you have an INVISIBLE disability, you would be wise to get you a card that says you have a disability and that you invoke the ADA, and that you want to speak with the “designated responsible employee” under 28 C.F.R. §35.107(a).
I offer a card that also includes clients demanding the right to call me to help them work through situations. Visit my website ADArightsTrust.com, and use the webform, or email me at
This is a very interesting read.
