I’ve been denied 6 times in a row for hearing accommodations after driving 3 hours to Pitt County NC, and I properly submitted my paperwork. I have to bring my infant with me and stay in hotels each time because I’m denied WebEx. This last time my attorney requested CART, was told it wouldn’t be ready until 2 pm. He told me not to come until 2 pm. I had to stay in a hotel an hour away due to parents weekend and hotels booked. I received a call at 8 am from attorneys assistant asking me to be at court at 10 am saying CART will be available. I told her I’d try to make it. I called on my way and told her around 9:45 I wouldn’t make it inside by 10 so can 11 work and she said yes. Mind you I was violently assaulted in front of my infant son on 6/29 and the person kept me there by reaching in my car stealing my sons suitcase out of my backseat. It’s all on video. I have serious permanent injuries from the assault. As I’m leaving this person reaches in my back window and steals around $500 worth of dresses out of my back seat, but I continue to drive away as I’m still recording because I’m scared and I was assaulted so bad I peed myself. I am waiting for my attorney outside in the rain as he said he would meet me with my now 1 year old son. He’s a no show. I get a call right before 11 from him telling me to come meet him outside the courtroom. The person was arrested for the larceny already. My attorney told me one, the judge threatened to throw me in jail since I wasn’t there for roll call. I said you told me not to come. Then he told me that the assistant DA dropped ALL MY CHARGES! Without me present but the defendant was present and they looked at evidence and held a hearing without me. Then I find out CART was not available at that time. So why was I called in early. My other case was where the person retaliated was continued due to bad weather (IN NC) mind you I have a 1 year old and live 3 hours away. He said they were canceling court. I have letters from doctors saying I can’t drive long distance but Judge is still saying I have to come. I have not been able to hear anything in court and yet to have an actual hearing. The judge said once he had to get permission from the other party regarding allowing me to have accommodations and my attorney said it’s the DOJ who decides ADA accommodations p🤦♀️… My rights are being violated and I’m disabled and this person is only escalating. Now I’m being threatened with jail?! Feels like a set up and I trust no one.
I am still banned from my companies offices and events because of my vax status. It is a terrible feeling.
